Sisters raises $1,886.10 for the Hospital Auxiliary
Dear Editor, Just a little moment from our recent Warehouse Sale in Southampton.
As we were setting up on Thursday, and with our staff running around like busy little 'Fashion Bees', one of our girls, Lisa, said why don't we collect money at the door from those who enter, for the Southampton Hospital - my favourite cause, by the way.
I explained that we hadn't had time to organize it this year, but would do it again next year. The next morning to my surprise, one of our girls, Dianne Little, came in with a table, a sign for donations and a basket, so we assigned a girl for the door. Then, we met three ladies in line waiting to come into the sale ... all were from the Hospital Auxiliary and they immediately took over the donation basket for the entire weekend.
There was also a little girl of eight who wanted to help at the donation table while her mother shopped. When one woman asked, "Do I have to donate to get in?" 'Out of the mouths of babes', the little girl replied loudly, "This is for YOUR health you know!"
The rest is history. Thanks to the generosity of the women who attended the sale, $1,886.10 was raised for the Auxiliary.
Many Thanks to all,
Sisters on Huron, Southampton
